The Colegio de España was founded in 1973 in Salamanca as an Academic Institution with highly qualified teachers, whose primary aim is to teach Spanish Language and Cultura to foreign teachers and students. Many foreign universities have established their academic programs with the Colegio. Also, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affaires, during several summers we organized "recycle" courses for teachers of Spanish in Brasil and English-speaking Carribean. Throughout many year Spanish language teachers of the Ivory Coast attend the Hispanic Studies Courses at the Colegio, sponsorred by the Spanish government. This year, forty teachers of English in secondary schools in Norway have assisted in the College of Spain some refresher training, specially designed for them.
The Colegio has its own publising house (Ambos Mundos) where you can find publications, among others, on Spanish Language, to contribute to the promotion and teaching of this language. Twice a year the Colegio published the literary and cultural magazine (Cuadernos del Lazarillo), distributed in Libraries and Universities. The Colegio de España is a member of FEDELE (Federación Española de Centros de Enseñanza de Español), de of AITIPE (Asociación Internacional de Traductores, Intérpretes y Profesores de Español) and of AECYL (Asociación Castellano-leonesa de Escuelas de Español). |
