FROM MADRID AIRPORT 

The international airport of Madrid, Barajas, is situated at about 220 kilometres friom Salamanca. To reach the city from the airport, you have various options:

BY BUS bus-madrid-salamanca

Since several years the company Avanzabus offers a direct bus service from the Barajas Airport to Salamanca, and from Salamanca to the airport.  If you wish to use this service, we recommend you to buy your ticket before arrival to Madrid through the Internet.  The price of a one-way trip is about 23.35 euros.

OTHER OPTIONS:

From Barajas Airport, you can choose one of the following options to get to the bus station - Estación de Autobuses Sur (Calle Méndez Álvaro):

Taxis work 24 hours a day.

By metro: it costs about 3 euros. To get to the bus station, you have to take the following lines:

  • First, take line 8 from the Barajas Airport to the station Nuevos Ministerios.
  • At Nuevos Ministerios, change to line 6 up to the station Méndez Álvaro where you can find Estación Sur.

Once you get to the bus station, you should buy a ticket to Salamanca, the company is the same: Avanzabus.  This is another option, in case you wouldn’t have a direct ticket from the Airport.

From the bus station you have buses almost every hour, from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. The EXPRESS Bus takes two hours and a half and costs 23.35 euros, and the NORMAL bus takes three hours and a half and costs 16.11 euros. For more information, consult the following website www.avanzabus.com

  From Barajas Airport, you can choose one of the following options to get to the train station CHAMARTÍN: 

By taxi: it costs about 40 euros (depending on the traffic, supplements, etc.) Taxis work 24 hours a day.

By metro: it costs about 3 euros. To get to the bus station, you have to take the following lines:

  • First, take line 8 from the Barajas Airport to the station Nuevos Ministerios.

At the Chamartín Station, you can get a ticket for the train to Salamanca.

Various trains leave to Salamanca throughout the day, from 8.45 a.m. to 9.13 p.m. The trip takes about two hours and a half and cost about 19.00 euros. For more information, consult www.renfe.com

 

TRANSFER FROM THE COLEGIO

If you have chosen the pick-up service of the Colegio, there will someone from the school waiting for you with a banner indicating your name, this person will wait for you at the exit door at the airport upon your arrival.  Before your trip to Spain, we will send you the name of the driver and his phone number.  The pick-up service takes you from the airport straight to your lodging address in Salamanca. FROM THE VALLADOLID AIRPORT.

The Airport at Valladolid, “Aeropuerto Villanubla” is situated at about 125 kilometres from Salamanca. To get to our city, you have the following options:

 

By taxi: from the airport “Aeropuerto Villanubla” to the Bus station situated in Calle Puente Colgante, nº 2.  It costs about 24 euros.  Once you get to the bus station, get a ticket to Salamanca.  The company which offers the journey to Salamanca is Avanzabus.

From the station several buses leave to Salamanca from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.  The trip takes about an hour and a half and costs about 10 euros.
